Repair Over Perfection - Sept. 20th
Theatre LILA Laboratory
Get Messy, Get Free Series: Repair Over Perfection Sept 20, 2026 | 2 - 4:30 pm | Sara Alvarado & Theatre LILA Apologizing well is a skill most of us were never taught. This session is about what real repair looks like - the courage it takes, the discomfort you have to be willing to sit in, and what to do when repair isn't possible. The more we practice repair, the less fragile we become. Racial resilience isn't about getting it right - it's about seeing it when you don't, staying accountable, and showing up with integrity even when it gets messy. Because the goal was never perfection. It was always the desire for liberation for all. This series uses partnering, group movement, and arts exercises to keep our exploration playful yet honest. We invite you to be 'messy' with us as we use our minds and bodies to process this work in a truly transformative way. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a notebook or journal to write and draw with various prompts! ***You may sign-up for one or all of this series - it is not sequential so we invite you to attend those that fit in your schedule and know that each workshop stands on it's own.***

Cancellation Policy
Our cancellation and refund policy supports program quality and fairness to all participants and families: 100% refund with 28 or more days notice before the first day of class: This gives us time to offer the spot to someone on the waitlist or a new participant who may need to adjust their schedule. It supports decisions about whether to run the class, how to staff it, or whether to add additional sections. 50% refund with 14–27 days’ notice before the first day of class: Changes this late make key decisions more difficult and may negatively impact other participants—such as whether to run the class, how to staff it, or whether to remove sections. No refund with 13 or fewer days’ notice before the first day of class: At this late stage, it’s too late to make adjustments. This policy helps us prepare responsibly, serve more families, and offer a well-supported experience for all participants. To cancel your reservation email theatrelila@gmail.com.
